Every year, passionate people like you join the 1911 Initiative to help raise funds for programs that empower college-bound students and young adults through scholarships, mentorship, and internships.

This year, we’re hosting the 5K Scholarship Run/Walk on Saturday, June 13, 2026, in partnership with the Village of Matteson, and we need your help to make it a success!

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are at the heart of our mission, and we’re looking for energetic, dedicated people to assist with:

• Gear Check: Keep runners’ belongings secure.
• Hydration/Cheer Stations: Hand out water and cheer participants on along the route.
• Start/Finish Line: Help with logistics and celebrate runners as they cross the line.
• After-Race Party Coordination: Assist with setup/break down, entertainment, and ensuring everyone has a great time.
• Social Media Krew: Capture event highlights and share the excitement online.
